Statement by the IESF Innovation Committee on airbags and automotive safety
The technology currently used for airbags is considered obsolete and dangerous, as highlighted by the Takata scandal. Although the dangers of this technology are well known, nothing has changed: the global market is still dominated by three OEMs. The IESF Innovation Committee believes that Europe must impose a new safety standard, and that France must resume its role as technological leader in the airbag field. Frédéric MISHELETTI elected President of IESF
At the IESF Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday March 25, Frédéric Misheletti, a graduate engineer from CentraleSupélec (1996) and Centrale Méditerranée (1995), was elected President of Ingénieurs et Scientifiques de France (IESF) until the next Ordinary General Meeting on June 23, 2025. His objective is to unite our community around current technological and societal challenges, and to promote the expertise and diversity of our professions. More information.

WED 2025 review
On March 4, World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development was held for the first time at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. The day (co-organized by UNESCO and WFEO - the World Federation of Engineering Organizations) aims to raise awareness of the importance of engineering for environmental and social sustainability.
The French delegation, led by Jean Dambreville, IESF General Delegate, included five IESF Ile-de-France members. Find out more and watch the replay.

The "1 ingénieur, 1 projet" (1 engineer, 1 project) program gives visitors to the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie the chance to meet engineers, discover their know-how and discover the breadth of the engineering sciences. At the initiative of several ministries, the Académie des technologies and in partnership with Syntec-Ingénierie, this competition challenges engineering companies in the industry and construction sectors to design an innovative project or product. Entries are open for the following 3 categories: "decarbonizing industry", "adapting the existing to combat the causes or effects of climate change" and "innovating for energy transitions".

IESF Alsace - VDI: visit to Mutzig Fort
On Saturday April 26, IESF Alsace is offering its members, partners and friends the opportunity to visit the Fort de Mutzig (duration 2h) in Dinsheim-sur-Bruche (67). The visit will take place in 2 groups, each with its own guide in French or German. BNEI report on CVEC issues
BNEI (Bureau National des Élèves Ingénieurs) has just published its report on the CVEC (Contribution à la Vie Étudiante et de Campus) in engineering schools. This survey is part of a hearing to be held by the Cour des Comptes in June 2024.
